MARVEL Tōkon Fighting Souls Beginner Team Comps

Day-one squads that teach the game instead of punishing you for learning.

Last updated:

You do not need a tournament-winning comp on August 6. You need a beginner team that makes assists obvious and losses educational. Here are starter structures for MARVEL Tōkon Fighting Souls.

Principles

  • One easy point character
  • One comfort secondary
  • One assist with a visible purpose
  • One flex seat for curiosity

Draft them visually in the Team Builder. Theory lives on Builds Overview and Assist Roles.

Comp A — Shield Classroom (Avengers-leaning)

  1. Point: Captain America
  2. Secondary: Iron Man
  3. Assist: Black Panther or another Wakandan/Avenger toolset you enjoy
  4. Flex: Hulk (learn via team hub) or a cross-team stabilizer

Why it works: Cap teaches footsies; Iron Man adds midrange and air tools; the flex seat lets you explore smash or mix without abandoning structure. See Fighting Avengers.

Comp B — Stretch & Swarm (Guardians-leaning)

  1. Point: Ms. Marvel
  2. Secondary: Spider-Man
  3. Assist: Star-Lord
  4. Flex: Peni Parker

Why it works: approachable offense with web/mobility fantasy and clear assist visuals. Explore Amazing Guardians.

Comp C — Claws First (X-Men-leaning)

  1. Point: Wolverine
  2. Secondary: Storm
  3. Assist: Magik or Danger
  4. Flex: whichever X-Men kit you want to lab next

Why it works: Wolverine forces you to learn offense; Storm teaches space control. Hub: Unbreakable X-Men.

How to practice a beginner team

  1. Play five Training minutes per point character (Controls).
  2. Spend an entire casual evening calling only one assist on purpose (Online).
  3. After ten losses, change one seat — not all four.
  4. Compare your results with provisional notes on Character Tier List without obeying them blindly.

When to break the training wheels

Once you understand Systems and can explain why each seat exists, start hybridizing with Knights of Doom control pieces or Samurai Outriders wildcards.

Beginner teams are scaffolding. Climb, then remove the scaffold on purpose.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the questions players ask most.

What is the best beginner team?

Cap or Ms. Marvel cores are safest. The best team is the one you will actually practice.

Can I use villains as a beginner?

Yes — Doctor Doom lines are popular — but learn defense first.

Should my beginner team match Episode Mode?

Optional. Story teams help memory; versus mixes help coverage.

How often should I rebuild?

Change one seat at a time after a real sample of matches.
