Tier List

MARVEL Tōkon Fighting Souls Character Tier List (August Meta)

Post-launch placements after week-one lab time — reshuffle expected when balance patches finally arrive.

Last updated:

This character tier list for MARVEL Tōkon Fighting Souls reflects mid-August 2026 launch-week consensus across the live roster. Placements emphasize neutral control, assist value, corner carry, and early online samples — not omniscient balance truth. Performance patches (Day 1, Aug 10 / 1.002.002) have not been broad character balance passes — see Patch Notes.

Treat letter grades as lab priority, not a moral judgment of your main.

S-Tier — prioritize these toolkits

  • Magik — long normals, teleport pressure, excellent assists, brutal corner deletes
  • Spider-Man — mobility, mix, screen-wide tools, meterless Spidey-Sense counter
  • Storm — Tempest-driven neutral and corner carry; high ceiling
  • Black Panther — Bast’s Blessing / Divine Rite pressure, elite Assault assist value
  • Blade — easy on-ramp, resets / sustain, strong as point or tag partner
  • Doctor Doom — premier zoner with Nullify Shield / Auric Ray; watch meter burn

If you can only deep-lab a handful this month, start here — then check Team Tier List.

A-Tier — contend with S on the right team

  • Iron Man — solid solo tools; Unibeam Shooter assist often the real pick
  • Hulk — Gamma Rage damage monster; limited aerial mobility keeps him out of S
  • Wolverine — corner Berserker rushdown; weaker when forced defensive
  • Danger — trap / teleport toolbox; hard to master (Day 1 improved dash cancels)
  • Star-Lord — Elemental Blast adaptations; needs help vs patient defenders
  • Ghost Rider — long chains and range pressure; Overheat is the tax
  • Magneto — Metallic Hammer / Blast zoning with strong assists; defense tools check him
  • Deadpool — huge mix ceiling with self-risk Meat Shield routes — see secret commands

B-Tier — workable with clear limits

  • Captain America — still a fantastic beginner point; less oppressive once benches flood
  • Peni Parker — setup zoner that folds once opponents know the patterns
  • Green Goblin — scary on glider; much weaker grounded

C-Tier

  • Ms. Marvel — friendly training wheels; linear once assists unlock and opponents adapt

Still being evaluated

Early lists still need denser samples for:

Not ranked yet (DLC)

How to disagree productively

  1. Name the patch build (Day 1 vs 1.002.002 vs later)
  2. Name your team structure from Team Builder
  3. Separate offline success from online success (Online, Cross-Play)
  4. Compare with Team Tier List

Practice advice

If your main sits mid-list, improve systems first (Systems). If your main sits high-list, do not skip defense drills from Controls. After every balance note, re-check this page against Patch Notes.

Tiers are a flashlight, not a cage.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the questions players ask most.

Who is top tier right now?

Mid-August consensus highlights Magik, Spider-Man, Storm, Black Panther, Blade, and Doctor Doom — still provisional until balance patches.

Is Hulk still low?

Many week-one lists now park Hulk in A-Tier for Gamma Rage damage — aerial limits keep him out of S.

Is Captain America bad?

No. Cap remains one of the best beginner points; he simply faces more competition once full assists unlock.

Where do Champion, Loki, and Carnage sit?

Still being evaluated in several early metas — unlock and lab them, but expect rankings to move.

Will DLC change tiers?

Yes. Phoenix Cyclops and later Year 1 fighters will force reshuffles — track the DLC schedule.
