Color 5 — Episode Mode map

Completing one Episode unlocks Color 5 for that team’s four members. Clear all five Episodes for the full launch roster.

Fighting AvengersCaptain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Black Panther
Unbreakable X-MenStorm, Wolverine, Magik, Danger

Finishing any Episode also unlocks The Champion — double value for story hunters.

Color 6 — Casual Matches

Queue Casual Match specifically. Room Matches do not count for this palette. Ten completed Casual Matches unlock Color 6 for everyone — you do not need ten wins.

Color 7 — Survival Stage 100

Reach Stage 100 once in Survival. Bring a comfortable Beginner Team or your strongest S-Tier core from the Character Tier List, and prioritize damage / survivability buffs as stages climb.

Color 8 — Character Lessons grind

Color 8 is the long project. Each fighter’s Action Check and Combo Challenges unlock only that fighter’s Color 8. Plan around the Weapon X trophy path (100 combo challenges total) so palette hunting and trophy hunting overlap.

Color 9 — Ultimate only

Animated Chromatic cannot currently be earned through gameplay. Compare editions on Editions and Editions Comparison before upgrading solely for the shimmer.

Ultimate also adds full costumes (not just palettes) for Spider-Man, Storm, Iron Man, Captain America, and Doctor Doom — listed on Costumes.

  • Costumes — dated free drops like Wolverine Battle Reborn (Sept 1)
  • Trophies — online and lesson grinds that overlap color goals
  • Online — Casual vs Ranked vs Room distinctions

Look good after you look consistent. Unlock palettes while you lab systems.
